  " you will never grow old..." a more grievous lie is hard to imagine.

  i heard this one first in 1957. i was 6. my mother had just converted.

  i heard it many times after that.

  Yes, this was a terrible lie and it still goes on and millions still believe it. Generation after generation and even overlapping generations are believing it.

  I was told as a child in 50s and 60s that soon god would put an end to this wicked system. I was terrified of Armaggedon and had many sleepless nights worrying about it. Was told my young sister would never leave primary school. I left school at 15 because no use going to college this system was ending soon!

  I feel very sad today because my lovely niece who is barely 16 has just put pictures on facebook of her getting baptized at her assembly. If only her father, who was never a witness, had done some research into this cult and put up some opposition to his wife, my sister, who was never going to leave primary school. No doubt he was there at the assembly to watch his daughter getting baptized into something he kn ows barely nothing about.

  My other sister who lost a child at a very young age, who drinks every night just to cope, has put on facebook her yearly "my child would have been 40 today, miss him so much, cant wait to see him again", and all the replies every year the same, "won't be long now, you will see him soon"! That's what they all said when he died nearly 40 years ago! Why can't they see?

  I am 60, I got old in this system. They lied and they are still lying.

  i recently came across a female youtuber called "bridget azaz".

  she has made a number of youtubes recording discussions that she has had with a number of jws.

  she does an excellant job and i thought i would make mention of her here.there appears to be another youtube site that either she or someone else has created with a couple of her interviews which have been touched up from the originals on her 'bridget azaz' site.this is one of them and i think you will enjoy it.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkescwpafmu&feature=em-subs_digest.

  What an amazing young lady. The witnesses are laughable, there have been so many changes they can't keep up with them! They are saying the comments made in their own magazines are from apostate sources. 😂

  Some Comments On Facebook From Some Of My Relatives After Leaving EU

  everyone talking about leaving the eu, i am concerned and excited.

  mostly i look forward to seeing bible prophecy coming true and i keep my mum in the forefront of my mind.. me too sis!.

  We left EU. The Anglo-American bond will weaken. Toes of clay of Daniel's image is getting weaker and weaker and more fragmented as prophesied, yayyy! If Trump is President it will be even worse! Prophecy fulfilled for sure xx

  These comments are from 3 different people, two of whom are related to me.

  I stopped following the witnesses I knew on Facebook because their comments annoyed me so much and I couldn't reply which is very frustrating. My daughter who thankfully is no longer a witness, pointed these comments out to me. She too wanted to comment but didn't want to cause trouble so she didn't say anything.

  The person who wrote the original comment has a sibling who is no longer a witness, who is not disfellowshipped but living with someone. They also openly celebrate xmas and birthdays and don't hide this on facebook. None of the family shun this person because they are not disfellowshipped and they openly socialise with this person and their partner (I wonder if this will change after the coming assembly).

  They put comments like this on and look forward to Armaggeddon knowing that many of us don't believe this anymore and that we will read these comments. Believing that those of us who don't believe what they do will die a horrible death and they get excited about it.

  Old Relative Not Happy About Push To Use Ipads Etc

  i was in a close relatives house yesterday and she was having angry and resentful at the push to use electronic devices at the meetings.

  she was talking to another relative of mine who has just got an ipad to use.

  this relative of mine is very elderly and obviously prefers to use her bible and other books.

She was talking to another relative of mine who has just got an ipad to use. This relative of mine is very elderly and obviously prefers to use her bible and other books. She said she was pushed by an elder to do a demonstration on the platform using her ipad and she said she couldn't because of arthritis in her fingers and she flatout refused to use it!

  She also said all of her friends who are also elderly refuse to be pushed to use them!

  She said she hates all the changes! I'm not sure if she knows about the calendar being discontinued yet. I of course couldn't say anything about it. 'I know nothing'.

  So there is uneasiness in the ranks. Long may it continue.

  What were you never going to do in "This system" But did it?

  finish school.. finish my apprenticeship (why are you doing that brother karter you will never finish it in this system).. buy a house.. pay the house off.. karter..

  I was never going to leave school, get married or have children. I was going to wait until the new system to get married so I would be sure my husband was a true witness! I left school, went to work and pioneered. I waited until I was 28 but then got married and had five children.

  I was never going to retire or get a pension in this system and so opted out of the pension scheme! I was never going to get old. I am now 60. I feel so mad about that pension scheme. I am getting some because I paid in for some years before opting out, but it could have been double.

  I was hopefully never going to die (I always feared getting killed in the tribulation), but now believe I will. My mum was never going to die. She is very old now so she will.

  So many false hopes drummed into us that we believed. So sad.

  I was never going to celebrate birthdays or Christmas but I do now with my children although secretly because my husband is still a witness.

  I was hopefully never going to 'fall away' but I did. I would never leave Jehovah but I did.

  Were you beaten as a child?

  i've been confronting my mother with her dubious parenting skills (abuse) of me as a child.

  particularly the beatings i would get with the wooden spoon.

  not a light smack but hitting me as hard as she could for as long as she could.

  Spare the rod and spoil the child! Was taken literally back in 50s and 60s, especially by my father. Above the mirror in our living room was a bat, a cricket bat! On it at the front was a picture of a little deer and walking behind it was a bear. The writing on it said "for the poor little deer with the bear behind"! This was bought for my dad by a  'kind' brother whom he was studying with. Whether it was a bought as a joke I do not know, but my dad took the scripture 'spare the rod and spoil the child' literally and often used this bat on our bare bottoms.

  It was constantly there as a reminder of what we would get if we were naughty. My dad never stayed a witness for long but continued to physically punish us. Before we would get hit he would explain to us why we were going to be punished. He never did it in anger.

  We were never hit at the meetings. My mother never hit us.

  I saw a young brother at the meetings who smacked his baby in his arms on the hand for crying, I was shocked and thought he was disgusting. Many children were taken out by their parents and spanked for not being quiet.

  Hi purrpurr, so sorry that you have to be there when you dont want to be.

  My husband has gone and I am sitting alone in the house. He didn't even tell me he was going or where, just went. Of course I knew but wasn't going to say anything. On meeting days it is always awkward as he gets ready to go and I dont.

  Enjoy your book and let us know if anything interesting is said.

  what sort of reactions have you gotten when talking to other jw when telling them the "truth about the truth"?

  its funny ive read some stories on here about how they have become so infuriated by what logic dictates as being true and their own denying of it because it completely screws up their belief and shows how hypocritical it is xd some look like a nuclear reactor about to blow xd.

  Anger and astonishment at the things I was saying. Squirming around scriptures that they were not that familiar with such as Rev 19:1 I saw a great crowd in heaven! My sister after discussing this for a while asked me quite blankly "do you want to go to heaven"? I was just trying to prove that the bible says the great crowd are in heaven not on earth. Also a lot of blank stares after asking about Noah's Ark, how did the animals get from the ark to the different countries they are now in? Eventually crying and running out of the room (from them) and of course lots of "you sound like an apostate"! We don't talk about it anymore.

  I have noticed in recent years people giving cards and presents for baptisms, which is something that never happened years ago. They all go out for a celebration baptism meal too. I remember my mum was asked why she never got a card for her grandson when he got baptised. She said they had never done that and she didn't think it right to make a big celebration out of it, it was between him and Jehovah.

  maybe i was just going through the motions, attending meetings and not listening much.

  never was very good at personal study or underlining answers in watchtower or book study (i never ever answered up) was too shy.. i never knew when i was a witness that they taught that jesus had looked down on the earth in 1919 to see who was serving god most accurately, and of course he chose a small group of bible students living in america!

  There are some things that as a witness I never knew. Maybe I was just going through the motions, attending meetings and not listening much. Never was very good at personal study or underlining answers in Watchtower or book study (I never ever answered up) was too shy.

  I never knew when I was a witness that they taught that Jesus had looked down on the earth in 1919 to see who was serving god most accurately, and of course he chose a small group of bible students living in America! How did they know that he chose them, did he send a letter down from heaven or maybe a dove!

  I never knew that they once banned vaccinations, or that they banned transplants saying it was cannibalism!

  I never knew that Rutherford had a house built for the prophets to live in when they were resurrected (in America) but in the meantime he lived in the house!

  There are so many things I never knew when I was a witness and I don't think many witnesses know these things.

  Is there anything any of you didn't know when you were a witness or before you started to wake up?
